One of the most beautiful scenic wonders in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Hickory Nut Gorge is sometimes called a hidden treasure. Those of us lucky enough to live and work here want to share this gorgeous and friendly place with you.

Beginning in the higher elevations of Gerton, a picture-perfect mountain community, the Gorge winds down to Bat Cave with its shops, lodges and cabins along the rushing Rocky Broad River.

The Gorge continues into Chimney Rock Village and on to the crystal waters of Lake Lure. Along the entire way are spectacular scenery and fantastic opportunities for relaxation and fun.

Our hospitality is warm and inviting, too. Country inns, bed and breakfast lodges, an historic hotel, resorts, motels, campgrounds, cottages, and beautiful homes on the lake or in the mountains provide a rich variety of lodging.
